This SureShell Polymer Carrier system, available in a six shellconfiguration, features shell holders injection molded from glassfilled polymer, secured to the receiver by a lightweight aluminum backplate with brass threaded inserts. The SureShell Polymer Carrier alsoincludes an innovative dual rubber friction system that reliably holdsshotshells in place.
The saddle rails feature Picatinny rails machined from aircraftgrade 6061-T6 aluminum, which aremil-spec hard anodized and providean extremely durable non-glare matte finish.The basic saddle raildesign provides a robust mounting platform suitable for mounting avariety of optical sights and includes a Mesa Tactical sixshell SureShell polymer shotshell carrier mounted on the left side ofthe receiver. This rails are manufactured in compliance withMIL-STD-1913 Picatinny specifications, and no gunsmithing is requiredfor installation. These saddle rails offer a perfect solution for addingoptical sights and SureShell shotshell carriers to Remington shotgunsequipped with Mesa Tactical’s LEO telescoping stock and pistol gripsystem.
Saddle Rails that extend the length of the shotgun are supported atthe front by a barrel or magazine clamp. Full length rail systemsavailable from Mesa Tactical, require a mounting point near the muzzleof the shotgun.On the Remington platforms, these mounting points takethe form of a magazine clamp or barrel clamp. The fit between the railand the clamp is very tight.The best installation procedure is toloosely install the clamp in its approximate location before attachingthe rail at the receiver.Once the rail is firmly mounted on thereceiver (or on the stock adapter for High-tube full length rails), movethe clamp until the rail mounting holes are lined up and the mountingscrews are started before finally tightening it into place.Use blueLoctite on all fasteners.
FOREND COMPATIBILITY
Factory shotgun forends, except “tactical” forends, often featuresignificant receiver overlap when the bolt is pulled back. These forendswill need to be cut down or replaced with aftermarket “tactical”forends to be used with some SureShell shotshell carriers. Before youinstall a SureShell shotshell carrier, measure your forend’s receiveroverlap and compare it to the furthest forward point of the shotshellcarrier. Then cut any potential overlap or interference off the end ofthe forend with a miter saw or a rotary arm saw for a perfect fit.
